I have been a practising counsellor in Bath for over 25 years. I have been an Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2001. I am committed to providing Counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I also offer life, relationship and bodymind coaching.

As a counsellor and therapist I work with both individuals and couples. I work in an interactive and collaborative manner which helps develop trust and provides you with information and insights that you can utilise to address the issues you are facing. By identifying, connecting and naming authentic feelings and sensations major insights and changes in thoughts and actions can result. Exploring where their roots may come from can also help healing and lead to one being able to live more fully with vitality in the present. I can help you to explore beliefs, feelings, longings and needs and to develop more awareness of tensions and sensations that you hold and experience. This also can involve developing your witnessing self so that you can support yourself outside of sessions.

I draw upon Neuroscience research to inform how I work and where appropriate to help you get to the roots of your difficulties and to be more fully who you are. I am also skilled and experienced in working shorter term using a counselling /life coaching orientation. I also believe that an understanding of how the past affects you in the present can be very helpful in working through issues in the present. I have studied the developmental stages in childhood and can offer visualisations to help with reconnecting with and reparenting wounded child parts where appropriate. I also work with trauma using sensations, feelings and images in the present that can link to a past traumatic incident or ongoing incidents that accumulate into a traumatic burden in the body.

    I am also experienced in relationship counselling in Bath working with couples and family members for the past 18 years. I can help you and your partner understand the issues you have in your relationship and the roots of these difficulties. I am skilled at forming a trusting working alliance with both parties and this helps an open and honest communication of feelings, thoughts and experiences. From here, ways to change the relationship dynamic can be looked at through discussion and experiential exercises as and when appropriate.
